📚 Category: AKTU Rules & Regulations
What is the AKTU Grace Marks Rule?
AKTU provides grace marks to students who are failing by a small margin in their end-semester examinations. The primary condition is that adding these grace marks should change the student's status from FAIL to PASS.
Key Conditions for Grace Marks (2026)
- Maximum Limit: A student can get a maximum of 7 grace marks per academic year (across odd and even semesters combined).
- Division of Marks: These 7 marks can be used in a single subject or distributed among multiple subjects (e.g., 4 in one subject, 3 in another).
- SGPA Condition: The student must clear the minimum SGPA/CGPA criteria required to pass the year after adding the grace marks.
- No Grace for Practical Exams: Grace marks are strictly awarded for Theory Subjects only. You cannot claim grace marks in practicals, projects, or seminars.
Will Grace Marks Show on Marksheet?
Yes. Subjects where you pass using grace marks will have an 'E' or a hashtag/asterisk symbol indicating that the subject was cleared with grace marks. However, this does not affect your overall degree or placements in most companies.
